Dreaming Of Spring.--Act 7--Scene 6.
At the reception of A&E department.
Emily--"Excuse me I come to visit a friend of mine who is admitted as in patient on observation ward.His name is Fothergill."
Receptionist--"Are you the one who just talked to me on the phone madam."
Emily--"That's right.I am here now."
Receptionist--"Just give me two minutes to check with the doctor.If you would take a seat."
Emily--" Ok and thank you."
The receptionist walk off into the other room.Emily and Ann sit in waiting area.
Receptionist come back into reception.
Recept--"I just had a word with the doctor.He said Mr Fothergill was dicharged about half hour ago.He is not in the ward anymore."
Emily--"Has he gone home.We just came from his house."
Recept--"I don't think he has gone yet.He might be somewhere round the hospital awaiting ambulance to take home."
Emily--"Where can I find him?"
Recept--"He might be wandering round the hospital compound or in the canteen.His ambulance not due until couple of hours later."
Emily--"Thanks I shall look for him."
Emily is driving round hospital compound and comes to a green area with a garden of flowers.
Ann--"Slow down Emily.Does that man sitting on the bench looks like him?"
Emily--"Where aunty Ann?"
Emily looks at where Ann is pointing.She stop the car and walk across the green towards the bench.Steve is sitting on the bench looking at the flower garden.
Emily stands in fromt of him.Steve seen her and there is a moment slience.Then she move closer to him.
Emily--"David what are you doing here?You and me are going to be married in a few weeks time.We should be going to town and do some shopping for the day."
Steve get up and holding Emily's hand."Oh dear Emily.This time I will not say no.I have refused to go with you once and I have suffered for twenty years.I only wish I am a better man for you my love."
Emily--"What is that nonsense?I would be the most stupid woman in the world if I let you go this time."
Emily pull Steve towards her car and open the door from passenger side and push Steve in the seat.She get into the driver's seat and start the engine.The car moves towards the main gate of the hospital.

Dreaming Of Spring.--Act 7--Sence 5.
Emily parked the car in front of Steve cottage.She come out of the driver side of the car.Stood there for a while as if studying the house.Ann come out too and stand next to her.
Emily--"This is it then.Alas I found him."
Ann--"My hands are cold Emily.The excitement is too much for me.I can't take it."
Emily--"Let's go and investigate now.Come on aunt Ann."
Emily and Ann approach the house and knock at the door but no answer.
Emily--"Looks like he is out but the door is open." She pull the door knob and the door opens."
Ann--"He will not go out leaving the door open like this girl.I think we should go in and investigate."
Emily--"I am going in.Stay close to me aunt Ann."
Emily goes in to the room and got to the studio.The studio looks untidy and there are paintings put against the walls.Easels,stools and painting materials all over the place.There is a door connecting the studio with the bedroom.Emily walk in to the bedroom.When she look around she found the alter at the end of the bed and on it stands a portrait of Emily.She stood there looking at it for a while her face looks very serious.
Ann is looking at the photos on the table and found a photo of Steve with a cap and gown.She take it from the table and showing it to Emily.
Ann--"This is him I remember his face.This is Dr Fothergill."
Emily--" Yes its him but where is he."
Ann--"I found a wine bottle and some pain killers tabs on the floor in next room.I had a feeling he had done something to himself."
Emily--"Are you thinking what I am thinking aunt Ann.If you do I think we should ring the hospital."
Emily dial her mobile and got to hospital.
Emily--"Can you put me through to accident and emergency department please."
"I am just enquiring about somebody by the name of Fothergill admitted to your department today sir."
"Thank you he is a very close friend of mine.Is he still in the observation ward?Can I come and see him?
Emily put the phone down.
"Aunty Ann there is no time to waste.We must go to hospital straight away."
Emily and Ann exit.......
Emily--"This is it then.Alas I found him."
Ann--"My hands are cold Emily.The excitement is too much for me.I can't take it."

Dreaming Of Spring.--Act 7--Scene 4.
Accident and emergency department in hospital.Ambulance men pushing Steve into a cubical and sister greeted them.
Sister--"What have you bring us this time?Last time you said you brought a dead body but he woke up and walked away as soon as he arrived here."
Ambulance men--"That's what we call living dead sister.This time it a proper one and he is an artist too.He is not dead but he had taken overdose of some tablets for he wants to paint the pearly gates of Heaven."
Sister--"Cut out your bullshit and let me check his pupils."
Ambulance--"He is all yours sister.You may do whatever you like with him."
Sis--"His pupils are reacting at least he is alive.I will get the on call doctor to check him over."
Sister come back with a doctor wearing a white coat and a stethoscope hanging round his neck.
Doctor--"What have we got here?A Van Gough who had decided to cut his own ears."
Sis--"His ears are all right.They said he wants to paint the pearly gates of heaven unfortunately he is not going there.Not this time."
Doctor laughs and said" Better luck next time then. Sis have you done anything sensible like taking some blood samples and a gastric lavage."
Sis--"We are waiting for your decision doc for we don't know the time he taken the tabs and he had been drinking too."
Doc--"Do you think he is more drunk than overdose?"
Sis--"Its for him to know and for you to find out.The paramedics said they found an empty bottle of Paracetamol and a bottle of wine near where they found him."
Doc--"Did he left any suicidal note at all."
Sis--"Not as far as I know doc."
Doc--"First thing is we will do urgent blood levels for paracetamol.He can go to observation ward for overnight observation.I will review him with results.Are you happy sis?"
Sis--"Whatever you say doc I am always happy."
Doc--"Don't I deserve a cup of tea now for my expert opinion."
Sis--"Of course doc.You know where the kitchen is don't you?You can make one for me as well."
Doc--"Oh My God!!! who do I screw in this department to have a cup of tea?"
Sis--"Not me. I am too old for that sort of thing."
Doc--"Sis can I take you out for dinner on Saturday evening.I am desperate for sex."
Sis--" No way I am a very happily married woman."
Doc--"But I am very unhappily unmarried doctor."
Sis--"Go away doctor.You could have been a very attractive man.If you don't have bad manners like this."
Doc--"I will blame it on God who created me.Its all his fault."

Emily and Ann sit down for beakfast in the pub.Waitress came to serve them.
Emily--"Can we order some breakfast and whats can we have this morning?"
Waiteress--"There you go its all on the menu.Are you going to order some drinks first?"
Emily--"I'll have some coffee and what would you like aunty Ann?"
Ann--"The same for me too."
Waiteress--"O.K, I'll get you the drinks first and come back for your breakfast order."
Emily--"By the way,we are not familiar with this part of the world and we are somewhat a bit lost.We have been looking for this address could you give me some idea where it is."
Waiteress--"Well "The Cottage", this is not far from hear. Drive on for another two miles towards the seaside its there.What do you want with it?There is only one drunken artist who lives there."
Emily--"Thats exactly what we are looking for.We are art lovers and we would like to see him and his works of art.Thank you so much."
The waiteress go away and Emily has a smile on her face.
Emily--"We hit the jackpot aunty Ann.I hope its all worth the trouble."
Ann--"I hope so too.My heart is beating hundred miles per hour."
Emily--"I am so exicited too.I can't wait to see him.It will be a shock for him."

Emily is driving-
Emily--"Can you look at the map aunty Ann.Are we on the right road?"
Ann--"Of course Emily the directions given by Dr Evans said so.It can't be wrong."
Emily--"I have a feeling we are far off the track.We need to stop and ask somebody."
Ann--"Its early morning and there is nobody on the road girl.Drive on and if we see a petrol pump or a servise station we can stop and ask."
Emily--" Look there is a building comming up.I wonder what it is."
Ann--"It said "The Junction" looks like a pub or a restaurant.Will you pull over in there.We can have a rest and breakfast and ask directionsas well."
Emily--"Aunty Ann all you can think about is food at a time like this.You remind me now we haven't had any breakfast this morning before we set off."
Emily pulls the car in front of the pub and they both get down.Ann stretching her legs.
Ann--"I don't know about you but my old legs need stretching.My knees are getting stiff."
Emily--"I can't think of all that aunty Ann.We are that close to find Steve and I am in love."
Ann--"I hope he is waiting for you girl.Then it will all be over and done with .I am getting tired of following you round in your search for Dr Livingstone."
Emily--"Its not that bad aunty Ann.When I found him I will give you a big kiss."
Ann--"You be better off kissing him than kissing me girl.I think thats what you ought to be doing when you see him."

Dreaming Of Spring.--Act 7--Scene 1.
Jason in his office in Leeds picks up the phone and dial a number.He keep holding the phone and start shouting in the mouthpiece.
Jason--"Hello Steve are you there pick up the phone.Pick up the phone.My God! its hard to get hold of him.May be he is drunk again.There is a good commission coming his way and he is legless drunk.I am fed up of these weirdos.What shall I do? I will have to drive down there to see him.Bloody hell! If I don't I will loose my commission too."
He walk out of the room and headed towards his car.
Next Scene in front of Steve Fothergill's cottage knocking at the door and getting no answer walk round the back of the house and peeping through the windows.He found one of the windows to the studio open and start to shout through it.
"Steve are you in there?Are you in there?Please let me in."He move to another window and do the same.On the third window he found Steve Fothergill lying flat out on the floor.He start to hammer on the window pane to no avail.So he pick up a brick and broke the window open.He climbe inside the room and found Steve delirious.He put his ear to Steve's chest and feel his pulse.
Jason--"Well at least he is breathing but the pulse is very feeble and his hands cold and clammy.I better get some help."He pull a mobile out of his pocket and start dialling for ambulance.
Jason--"I need an emergency ambulance hear please my friend is unconcious and cold and clammy."
"I don't know what happen.I just got hear and found him on the floor unconcious."
"Yes he use to drink at night but not normally during day time."
"He is an artist."
"Will you plese hurry up."
He looks very agitated and start to walk back and forth in the room keep looking at his watch frequently.In a few minutes there is a siren and ambulance men knocking at the door.Jason open the door from inside and let them in.
Paramedic--"Where is the patient sir.?" Jason lead them to Steve and paramedics check Steve.
They carry Steve on strecther and take him in the ambulance.......

Dreaming Of Spring --Act 6--Scene 4.
In the studio Steve Fothergill is painting.It is a fine day and the sun shines through the windows and make lovely patterns and shadows on the floor.Steve got up from his stool in front of easal and go to the window looking out to the sea.when he opens the window and the sounds of waves can be heard across the room.
Steve--"Beautifull day and perfect weather but I don't feel any joy in my heart.Fame and frotune don't make me happy either.What is it that bothering me?May be I want something that I haven't got.I am empty inside.There is numbness inside me.I cannot feel the pleasures that others feel.I don't think I want to carry on like this for I have nothing to live for."
He walk across the room open one of the cabinet door pull outa bottle of tablets then he pour some wine in to a glass.He stood there contemplating for a while and then pour out a handfull of tablets on the table.He hold the glass of wine in his right hand but his hands are trembling.Suddenly he seem to remember something and walk towards the bedroom.There at the foot end of his bed an alter with a portriat of Emily.
Steve--"Goodbye Emily and goodbye world.If there is such thing as next life I would like to see you again Emily under better circumstances.But you have no hope in this life for I am leaving girl.All my love for you sweetheart."
He slowly go back into his studio gather all the tablets in his hand and swallowall of them one after another flushing down his throat with the glass of red wine in his hand........

Dreaming Of Spring.--Act 6--Scene 3.
Dr Evans office.Emily and Dr Evans sitting.Dr Evans looking through case files.
Emily--"I am feeling a bit anxious again lately doctor.I like to know whether it need to be treated before it gets worse."
Dr Evans--"According to the records you have been doing very well and no relapse for the last twenty years which I think is an excellent prognosis."
Emily--"I have been having worries recently doctor.I have an unfinished business hear in your clinic.Its is comming back to haunt me disturbing my sleep at night.I wonder you could help with that."
Dr E--"I will do my best to help you Emily.Tell me whats bothering you."
Emily--"Do you remember Dr Fothergill who use to work here.I need to see him.Actually he is the main cause of my problem doctor."
Dr E--"Of course I remember Steve Fothergill.He is one of the most decent chaps who worked for me.What problem do you have with him."
Emily--"Not a problem as such doctor.I have an emotional attachement towards him in those days.That is comming back and haunting me all the time.I will not have peace untill I sort it out with him."
Dr E--"I understand you and him were very young then if you got attached to each other.I will say it quite natural.Doctors can get attached to their patients sometimes.It is unethical but we are all humans."
Emily--"I agree with you doctor.I want to tell him that I love him very much.I have never stopped loving him since the day I met him.I need to find him to tell him that doctor please help me."
Dr E--"I think he lives in east coast near Scarbrough.I had his address hear in my diary for I have been intouch with him not long ago."
Emily--"Can I have his address doctor.I will go and see him."
Dr E--"Here is his address Emily.You can have it.You seems to be desperate to see him."
Emily--"Yes doctor and thank you so much.I have been living in a nightmare for the last twenty years.My life is like living in eternal winter."
Dr E--"You must have a very strong will to survived that.A lot of people may have had a complete breakdown."
Emily--"I was on the verge of despair many times but my determination and my love for him kept me alive.Like they say if you are in the midst of winter spring will not be far behind.So I dream of spring."
Dr E--"Dreaming of spring.Dreaming of spring.Dreaming of spring.That had been a therapy for you for the last tweny years then.Poor girl if I had known I would have given you his address.It had been in my diary for all those time."
Emily--"Now I've got it.I will not be miserable again.Thanks a million Dr Evans.I would not know how to pay you back."
Dr E--"Go get your man girl and bring him back to me.I would like to see you both happy together.That will be my true reward."
Emily exits.......

Dr E--"Of course I remember Steve Fothergill.He is one of the most decent chaps who worked for me.What problem do you have with him."
Emily--"Not a problem as such doctor.I have an emotional attachement towards him in those days.That is comming back and haunting me all the time.I will not have peace untill I sort it out with him."
Dr E--"I understand you and him were very young then if you got attached to each other.I will say it quite natural.Doctors can get attached to their patients sometimes.It is unethical but we are all humans."
Emily--"I agree with you doctor.I want to tell him that I love him very much.I have never stopped loving him since the day I met him.I need to find him to tell him that doctor please help me."
Dr E--"I think he lives in east coast near Scarbrough.I had his address hear in my diary for I have been intouch with him not long ago."
Emily--"Can I have his address doctor.I will go and see him."
Dr E--"Here is his address Emily.You can have it.You seems to be desperate to see him."
Emily--"Yes doctor and thank you so much.I have been living in a nightmare for the last twenty years.My life is like living in eternal winter."
Dr E--"You must have a very strong will to survived that.A lot of people may have had a complete breakdown."
Emily--"I was on the verge of despair many times but my determination and my love for him kept me alive.Like they say if you are in the midst of winter spring will not be far behind.So I dream of spring."
Dr E--"Dreaming of spring.Dreaming of spring.Dreaming of spring.That had been a therapy for you for the last tweny years then.Poor girl if I had known I would have given you his address.It had been in my diary for all those time."
Emily--"Now I've got it.I will not be miserable again.Thanks a million Dr Evans.I would not know how to pay you back."
Dr E--"Go get your man girl and bring him back to me.I would like to see you both happy together.That will be my true reward."

Dreaming Of Spring.--Act 6--Scene 2.
Emily is walking into the compound of Dr Evans clinic.She is standing talking to receptionist.
Emily--"I used to be a patient of Dr Evans many years ago but I have been discharged from treatment for a long time.Is there any chance of see him again."
Receptionist--"You can but you must first make an appointment."
Emily--"Can you pencil me in please."
Reception--"His waiting list is not too long now since he become semi-retired.It would be in couple of weeks time."
Emily--"Thats marvellous I will take it."
The receptionist give Emily an appointment card.
Emily--"Thank you.Do you still have a Doctor called Dr Fothergill working hear?"
Reception--"I haven't seen him for many years.I think he left this cilnic to become an artist."
Emily--"Had he? Do you know his whereabouts? I want to get intouch with him again."
Reception--"I don't know where he lives but the last time I met him was in Scabrough on my hollidays.He said he live on the coast."
Emily--"Hear is my address and phone number.If you heard any news about him will you let me know.I will make your effort worthwhile."
Emily exit from stage......
Curtain falls......

Dreaming Of Spring.--Act 6--Scene 1.
In his office in London art dealer Jason on his own.He is comtemplating a loud by himself.
"How wonderfull to know that my plans are working.Money will be rolling in soon.I just have to play the game between those two.I have total control over the atist Steve and will get 50% of all his sales.Emily that hardheaded girl I will do my best for her not to find Steve until she come back to me and beg me to find Steve for her.Then I will be calling the shots and make more money out of her.Ha,ha,I can't wait to see the day.Thats what happen to most weak people.In life you got to be hard and tough otherwise you will become losers like them.Steve,Emily they are nothing but losers.I am the the one who will be the winner in the end.How proud my father would be if he know that.He was an honest man.Thats whats wrong with him.Thats why he died poor.I refuse to follow his footsteps.I will get everything I want before I die.I come to live not to give.Don't expect any charity or mercy from me.These are the weakness of mankind.I am not a weak person.I will be superman.Mankind had come from worm to man much in us is stll worm.We must over come men and become superman."
He smiles very contended and exit.

Dreaming Of Spring.--Act 5--Scene 4.
In a restaurant in the city of Leeds. Jason and Emily are having lunch.
Emily--"Have you make any progress in finding Robert Winters?"
Jason--"Yes I have but its a very delicate situation.He seems to be very private person and fanatically defend his privacy."
Emily--"If you can give me his address I will go and see him myself.I can ask him how he managed to paint my portriat."
Jason--"Its not as simple as that.If you push him he will run and disappear from the art scene forever.Then I will loose one of my valued artist.You will be destroying the career of a budding genius from this area."
Emily--" So what is you line of approach to this problem.I have a gut feeling that he might be somebody I knew quite well during my younger days."
Jason--"You might be right but I still cannot let you do that.Its my career and living I need to think of too.He is the one artist who brings a lot of commision for me."
Emily--"What about my feelings? I don't want to live all my life in wanting to know him."
Jason--"Thats doesn't seem to affect me and my income.Its your problem not mine."
Emily--"In that case you are not very helpfull in my quest.I would like to find him my own way.If you don't mind I like withdraw my proposal to you."

Dreaming Of Spring.--Act 5--Scene 3.
At a cottage overlooking a seaside Steve Fothergill is sitting in his garden.The evening sky is beautifull as the sun sets below the ocean it looks spectacular.He doesn't seem to notice the sunset or the surrounding.Oblivious in his own thoughts and talking to himself.
Steve Fothergill--"Twenty years had just gone but I still feel like yesterday.Like I was a doctor in Dr Evans clinic.I have unfinished business there with the only girl I ever loved.Since then I have done nothing but run from her.What have become of Emily?Did she still think of me?Did she still love me?She must have forgotten me by now.Maybe she found another guy.May be she is married to him and had his children and happy.Hear I am a piece of decay, getting old and not very wise.Sometimes I wish I haven't been born.I wish I could see her again.If I meet Emily now I won't even know how to greet her.I will have to greet her with silence and tears.Oh My God! What a rambling old fool I am running away from the only woman I ever loved.Its my own wickedness.I am paying for it.My heart in constant pain from sorrow.I wish I haven't live.Maybe I deserve all this pain and unhappiness for I have forsaken my own true love."
He drinks from his wisky bottle and stagger about in the garden.Jason enters.
Jason--"Out in the cold on your own there Steve.I've been looking in the studio for you.I got something important to talk to you.Why don't we go inside."
They both walk towards the house.
Scene change Jason and Steve sit in the studio.
Jason--"Something strange had happen in the art exhibition yesterday.A lady claim that one of your paintings is an exact portriat of her and she want to know your identity Steve."
Steve--"Who is she?What is she looks like?"
Jason--"Her name is Emily and she looks like the woman in your painting.She is demanding to know who you are? She want to see you in person."
Steve--"I don't want to reveal myself to any one.Have you told her her who I am?"
Jason--"No but she is very persistant.I cannot keep her in the dark for much longer.I might have to tell her the truth sooner or later."
Steve--"My past is catching up with me Jason.I know who she is now.She is the girl who I have treated when I was a practicing psychriatist.She is in love with me and I am in love with her too but I cannot give into temptation.We are doctor and patient you know.So I decided to run away as far as I can from her.Now I am paying for my sins."
Jason--"You have your problems.I have mine.My problem is to get myself established as a gallery owner and and a successfull art dealer.I need a lot of investment for that."
Steve--"What do you mean?"
Jason--"I mean I need more money.I need to have 50% commision from the sales I made from your works and the right to sell any of your works if I feel like it."
Steve--"Don't you think its a bit unfair Jason.I have treated you fair all these years and the usual commision for the agents is 20% of the sales."
Jason--"Of course but yours is an exceptional case.I have to keep your identity secret.Don't you think its worth to give me more to keep my mouth shut."
Steve--"I don't care much about money Jason but I always treated you fairly and I expect you to do the same."
Jason--"Thats your problem Steve.You want to be Mr Right all the time.If you don't accept my proposal I will have to reveal your true identy to Emily."
Steve--"Thats sound like blackmail Jason.How could you do that to me?"
Jason--"You don't have a lot of choice Steve.You give what I asked for or Emily will be here knocking at your door soon."
Steve--"Do what ever you want but I am not goiing to move an inch from where I stand.I can find another agent."
Jason--"Its that final word from you."
Steve--"You can take it as my final word.I don't want to see your face any more."
Jason--"The feeling is mutual.You can expect the girl to come knocking at your door soon."
Exit Jason.Curtain falls.......

Dreaming Of Spring.--Act 5--Scene 2.
The scene is still the art exhibition in Leeds.Jason is talking to visitors as usual.He feels thirsty and take a sip of wine from the glass in hand. Emily approach him through the crowd.
Emily--"Hello, is it Jason isn't it?Will you be kind enough to tell me about a painting I have just bought."
Jason look at Emily and smile and said."It would be my pleasure young lady,just show me the painting."
Emily--"Its over there.The one called "She's a Lady" its a portriat."
Jason--"Lets go over there shall we?"
They both move to the other corner of the room where the painting is hanged on the wall.Looking at the portriat and then to Emily, Jason looks very bewildered and he keep looking back and forth from painting to Emily several times.
Emily--"It look exactly like me isn't it."
Jason--"The resemblance is remarkable.Although the girl in the painting looks a lot younger than you."
Emily--"Actually she look like me twenty years ago.Thats why I want to know the artist who painted it.He couldn't have painted this from his imagination.I believe he is someone that I have known in the past.Can you help me find the artist Robert Winters for me?"
Jason--"It could be done but if I found him will you be happy to pay my expences."
Emily--"What do you mean by expenses?I thought you already knew him."
Jason--"I only know him by name not in person.I might have to track him down to find where he lives.These artists are very unreliable characters."
Emily--"Please find him for me.If it is money you want.I am willing to give you."
Jason--"You sound desperate.In that case I will but don't say I don't warn you of the cost.I will need a preliminary payment of £10,000 to start with."
Emily--"I will have to consult with my aunt and the bank manager as well how much funds I got left in the bank and let you know."
Jason--"I will start the job when I recieved the cash in my hands."

Dreaming Of Spring.--Act 5--Scene 1.
Same scene in the art gallery on the exhibition day.Emily and aunty Ann are there in the exhibition hall looking at paintings.Jason also busy as usual talking to visitors.
Emily--"Look hear aunty Ann this painting look like me when I was younger."
Ann--"Yes Emily its very strange it look exactly like you.Have you pose for any artist when you were young darling."
Emily--"I have never been an artist model in my life Aunty Ann.You know too well that I spent most of the time in the clinic.I hardly had time for anything those days."
Ann--"I know darling but how come this artist had painted the exact portriat of you.Do you know him by any chance."
Emily--"I don't know any artist aunty Ann.All I see is doctors in my younger days.I could not imagine how this artist seem to have painted my portriat.I think we should enquire abot this artist.Who he really is and where he come from."
Ann--"The best thing is to have a word with the organiser of the exhibition.He will definitly know about the artist."
Emily--"Yes I think we should start from there and I would like to meet the artist in person too to ask him why he painted this picture.I shall go to the desk right now and start my investigation aunty Ann."
Emily walk across the room towards the desk.
Emily--"Excuse me dear I would like to purchase one of the paintings the one called"She's a Lady".How do I go about it."
Receptionist--"All you need to do is paid the deposit money and come and collect it on the last day of the exhibition and paid the rest."
Emily--"Can I pay the deposit now."
Receptionist--"The deposit will be £100 for the total cost is £500.You can pay £100 now and the rest when you collect it."
Emily--"There you go £100 in cash.I like to see some body who know the history of this painting.Who do I see for that."
Receptionist--"Jason is the right person to approach for that.He organized this show and he knows all about artists and paintings.He is over there,the one wearing a white hat and blue blazer."
Emily--" Thank you so much.I shall go and speak to him."

Dreaming Of Spring.--Act 4--Scene 4.
In the gallery in Meanwood road,Leeds.An art exibition is in progress.Paintings are hung on the walls.Wine table is at the center of the room laid with glasses and bottles of wine.There is a good crowd in the room and the atmostphere is drome of Low noise. Jason the art dealer is busy talking to people explaining of the benifits of investing in arts.
Visitor--(to Jason)"I never heard of this artist before Jason can you enlighten me obout his art and his paintings."
Jason--"Robert Winters is not new to us dealers his works had been seen in London and Paris.Quite an interesting character of an artist.He is known as one of those who paint from his heart.A very colourfull artist I would say."
Visitor--"I have noticed that his works seem to have narrative quality but they are very melancholy in depiction."
Jason--"Its reflects the mood the artist is on while he is working on the canvas I think.Like they say the sweetest songs are that of saddest thoughts."
Visitor--"There are a few works of his that caught my eye.Its seems to me that this artist tries to paint emotions rather than figures or landscapes."

Steve--"I am sorry I was incapacitated yesterday when you came but I got your note."
Jason--"Its all right Steve but I won't like you to make a habit of it.I am only saying that because I am worried about you."
Steve--"I am so sorry I promise it wont happen again.I was drowing my sorrows in whiskey last night."
Jason--"You are such a good artist Steve.I don't want to see you die young."
Steve--"I live passionately and paint passionately Jason.Thats how I am and thats what make me a good artist.At least different from others."

Steve Fothergill is walking down the road towards his house very unsteady on his feet in fact he is staggering drunk.He hold a bottle of whisky in his hand as he drag himself to the door.He fumble for the keys in his pockets and open it.He went straight to his bedroom kick his shoes off and undress himself down to underwear.He face the wall at the end of the bed.There is an alter standing there he lit the candles on the alter and a portrait of Emily come to light.
Steve--(taking a sip from his bottle)"I hope your life is peacefull and happy darling for mine is a hell of a great mess."
He fall straight onto the bed and stay there legless unconcious.
Jason the art dealer walk in to the room.When he see Steve in bed he try to wake him up by shaking his arms but Steve lay there not moving.
Jason--"Oh my God! he is drunk again.One of these day I will find him lying dead in the gutter chocked on his own vomit.I must leave a note anyway for him to see when he wake up."
He scribble something on a piece of paper from his note pad and left it on Steve's chest and exit.

Dreaming Of Spring.--Act 3--Scene 4.
Still in the garden Emily and aunty Ann are busy with the barbecue.There is a garden table laid in the lawn and an elderly lady Betty and a young man in his late thirties sit at the table eating and drinking wine.
Betty--"You two should have a sit down here with us and start eating there is plenty of food already and wine too."
Ann--"I'll be in a minute Betty.Do you want some more wine?"
Emily--"I am comming.I am so hungry I can eat a horse."
Bill--"Come on Emily I have poured you a glass of wine.This chicken drumstick is delicious."
Emily go to the table and sit down next to Bill.
Emily--"Thanks Bill and how are you keeping these days?You haven't been around for a while.Where have you been?"
Bill--"My job takes me away from home most of the time but I like travelling so I don't mind."
Emily--"Of course you work for the newspapers.It must be an exciting job and pretty rewarding."
Bill--"Rewarding yes but I want to settle down now I am not getting younger every day.I am pushing fourty you know."
Emily--"Well life begins at fourty thats what they say.Consider youself only in your prime yet."
Bill--"Of course life begins at fourty but so is lumbago too.I wish I am married and with children."
Emily--"Don't worry that day will arrive sooner than you think Bill.Just keep wishing and it will come true."
Bill--"I just hope I an not wishing in vain."
Betty--"Thats what Ann and me were talking about the other day.We think you two should settled down together."
Emily--"What do you mean we.How do I get involve in it?I am not ready to be married yet."
Ann--"What Betty meant to say is,me and her have been friends for a long time and know each other very well and own large properties in this village.You and Bill known each other since childhood.If you two get married we will be a very well off families and happy too."
Emily--"Aunty Ann how do you know I would be happy marrying Bill.No offence to you Bill.I like you very much as a friend but I have only one who I love and he is a doctor.I cannot marry anyone without love.It would be cheating myself and the one I marry."
Ann--"You are not being realistic Emily darling.That doctor you are dreaming is nowhere to be found."
Emily--"Aunty Ann it was faith that made us fall inlove and faith will help me find him again.I am a great believer in Karma and faith."
Ann--"Where will you go to find him you dont have a clue where he live."
Emily--"I know in my heart I will find him one day but don't ask me how."
Emily get up and walk away from the table leaving the others dumbfounded.
Curtain falls-----

Dreaming Of Spring.--Act 3--Scene 3.
At Emily's house in the garden.Its is summer time and air smells of lavender and roses.The sky is the colour of burning blue.Emily and Ann sit on a garden bench enjoying the sunshine.
Emily--"Its a perfect weather today aunty Ann.I am happy just sitting in the sun."
Ann--"Sunshine lifts up every body's spirit darling.I am thinking of a barbecue in the afternoon."
Emily--"What a marvellous idea aunty,we haven't had barbecue for a while.It will be only you and me though."
Ann--"We can invite our neighbour Betty and her son Bill.I got some wine chilled in the fridge.We could make it a small party."
Emily--"Lovely, I will go and prepare the meat to barbecue.Shall we have some chicken drumsticks, pork chops, and steak too."
Ann--"Well lets make the most of this lovely summer's day darling.I will go across to Betty's house and invite them for barbecue."
Emily exit into the house and Ann exit from the main gate towards next door.
Curtain falls-----

At a restaurant in Leeds, Dr Fothergill and Jason are having a meal together.The night is young and music is in the air.
Jason--"You have taken London by storm Steve.How do you feel being a recognised artist?"
Dr F--"I feel like I am in a dream Jason.I am not fully awake yet.Now that I am recognised,what do I do next?"
Jason--"Leave it with me. I already have plans for you that is if you make me your agent."
Dr F--"Sure you can be my agent I leave it in your good hands.I just want to paint.I am just an artist nothing else."
Jason--"You know in the art world if you have not taken Paris,they don't consider you as an accomplished artist.So that will be the next stept for you Steve,but before we go any further have you still got some more paintings that you like to show to public."
Dr F--"I still got a few more enough for another exhibition."
Jason--" In that case I will organised another exhibition this time it will be in your home ground in Leeds."
Dr F--"I still feel a bit unsure about my art but you are my agent.If you want another exhibition in Leeds I am game."

At the art exhibition in London.A room with paintings hanged on the walls there is a table laid in the center of the room you can see wine bottle and glasses on the table.It the premier of an art show.Jason the art critic is talking to a group of people about the benefit's of investing and collecting art.
Jason--"You can make a lot of money by investing in art these days and more and more people are coming into it.If you buy an unknown painter's work and leave it for a few years or even a few months,and you never know his works might be hanging in Tates.Then you are on a winner and profits wise the sky is the limit."
Visitor--"What do you think about this paticular artist Robert Winters?"
Jason--"At this moment he is an unknown artist but by the look of his works he won't be unknown much longer.He is one of the up and comming arists who is showing a lot of promise."
Visitor--"I don't know him but I have been looking at his paintings.One of them strikes me right into my heart.I felt like he trying to say something to me through his art."
Jason--"I can see honesty and sincerity in his works and an experssion of some deep disturbing emotions."
Visitor--"I am very much interested in buying one of them.The one titled"Romeo and Juliet in Darkness" because it arouse some deep emotions in my heart.How do I go about buying it."
Jason--"Don't you worry sir,I'll take you to the desk and all you need to do is pay the deposit and the painting will be wrapped up and ready for you to collect on the closing day of the exhibition."
Jason lead the buyer to the front desk helping to do the transection.He looks happy and satisfied with the sale he make.He shake hands with the buyer and looking round the gallery for another kill.

Dreaming Of Spring---Act 2--Scene 4..
In Dr Fothergill's studio a room full of painting materials.There are easels leaning against the walls and paint tubes scattered on the floor.Dr Fothergill is sitting in front of a canvas and painting away and there is a knock on the door.Jason the art dealer and critic walked into the room.
Jason--"Hi Steve this is where it all happened.Is it? I have been busy for the last few weeks but I am here at last.Do you mind if I have a look around the place."
Dr F--" Feel free to do that Jason and when you finish looking will you give me your honest opinion of my work."
Jason--"I am already very much impress with your works.Let me have a good look at this one titled"Romeo and Juliet in Darkness"
He took the painting from the wall and start scrutinising it for a few minutes.
Dr F--"What do you think of it then?"
Jason--"It is very surreal and I could see that you have used symbolism to portray the meaning of love but there is an element of sadness in it."
Dr F--"I put a lot of emotions when I paint and all of myself in my works Jason.I try to reflect the inner feelings of the subject rather that the subject itself."
Jason--"I can see very clearly what you mean to say in this painting Steve.There is the female symbol in the sky above the crescent moon holding a red rose and a heart on fire and she is crying too.There is a male figure climbing the ladder up towards the moon but he is fending himself from the dark forces the serpents and the fire that consumed him from below.Which I gather he is having a tremendous struggle to reach the moon maiden his lover.There is a feeling of hopelessness in ther too that I can see."
Dr F--"You have interpret my painting very accurately.Well done Jason."
Jason--"I could arrange a exibition of your works in London Steve.How do you feel about that?"
Dr F--"If you think I am good enough for it but I still feel I am not ready to show my works to public yet."
Jason smile thinking of the commision he will have if the exibition is successfull.He is positive it is going to be.
Curtain fall-----

Dr F--"You hit the nail right on the head sir.Thats the main reason I will have to leave this place though I have many happy days working here."
Dr E--"Are.you in love with the girl?"
Dr F--"I am ashamed to admit that but I am madly in love with her."
Dr E--"I would like you to think it over Steve.You are the best assitant doctor I've got and I am not prepared to loose you."
Dr F--"I have given a lot of thought about it and finally come to conclusion that I must resign for the sake of my professional career.Here is my letter of resignation sir.Will you kindly accept it."
Dr E--"If you are determine to do it.I will have to but please let me know if you have changed your mind."
Dr F--"Thank you sir,I will never forget your kindness for looking after me as your junior associate.
Dr Fothergill exit from the room.

Emily--"Oh how nice to see you David.Where have you been all this time? I have been waiting for you since yesterday,but today is Tuesday.You usually come on Mondays and Thursdays aren't you?."
Dr F--"Emily my name is Dr Steve Fothergill not David.I am your doctor.I am only here to give you treatment, from now on you should call me Dr Fothergill or Steve if you want."

Dr Evans clinicis situated in a pleasent country side over looking the rooling hills of West Yorkshire.Dr Fothergill and Dr Evans sit together on the settee.
Dr Evans--"Your young lady Emily has been making good progress Steve.I have just been reviewing her case notes."
Dr Fothergill--"Yes sir I have also notice that last time I saw her.Her delusions are getting spaced out further and further.But she still calling me David though."
Dr E--"These things take its own course we can't push it.I will give her another few months yet to settle completly."
Dr F--"I am hoping so,I will pop around and check on her before I go home."
Dr E--"Thanks Steve will you do an assement on her when you see her."
Dr F--"Sure if you want me to.Shall I break the good news to her as well?"

Doc--"Of course I will infact I know a private clinic in this area that specialize in her kind of illness.I am also very much interested in psychiatry myself.I work there too if you are keen to go there.I will talk to Emily if you want me to."
Ann--"Please do doctor,you are very kind.I wouldl like to apologise on behalf of Emily doctor for the trouble she had caused you.Please forgive her for she oknw not what she is doing."
Doc--"I had forgiven her already.This is my home phone number will you give me a ring in next few days and we shall meet up in some place."
Ann--"Thank you doctor,I can't express my gratitude to you.Its like the best thing that happen to me today."

Dreaming Of Spring---Act 1---Scene 3.
A rather mature lady appears in reception and went straight to the desk.
Lady to John--"Did you see my niece Emily comming in here by any chance.She is about 5' 2" tall and wear a red dress and white hat."
John--"Oh! yes she is in with the doctor just now.Who did you say you are?"
Ann--"My name is Ann, I am Emily's aunt and guardian.She is not very well in the head."
John--"I did thought of that but she may be wanting to marry the doctor."
Ann--"I beg your pardon!"
John--"She said she is going to be married to Dr Fothergill in next two weeks."
Ann--"Oh! no it can't be true."
John--"This is beyond my comprehension lady.Would you like to go into the room with her?."
Ann--"Yes I would,thank you.I could explain what exactly wrong with her ."
John showed Ann into the consulting room and introduce her to the doctor.
John--"Excuse me doc,we have a vistor here.This is Ann and she is your girlfriend's aunty."
Doc--"Thanks John. Will you please sit down Ann."
Ann sat down on a empty chair facing the doctor.
Ann--"I am so sorry to barge in to your room like this but may I have a private word with you for a few minutes regarding Emily."
Doc--"Please do Ann .Emily will you wait outside in the waiting room for a few minutes while I talk to your aunty."
Emily--"If you say so david but don't take too long.We got to go shopping you remember."
Emily exit consulting room doctor and Ann left in the room sitting face to face with doctor.
Ann--"What do you think of my niece doctor,I will not be surprise if you think she is strange."
Doc--"Not at all Ann but I was taken by surprise when she mistaken me for her fiancee.There again I may look like him.What 's his name?David."
Ann--"You are into more surprise then doctor because that David does not exist."
Doc--"You mean all this business of getting married to David is a make up story."
Ann--"I am afraid so doctor.My niece suffered from a mental condition and she believe in her own day dreams.Lately she had been dreaming about a person called David the man of her dreams they fall in love and are engaged to be married."
Doc--"You mean all this business of getting married to David is all in her mind."
Ann--"Exactly doctor I have taken Emily to see her own GP but it no help."
Lady to John--"Did you see my niece Emily comming in here by any chance.She is about 5' 2" tall and wear a red dress and white hat."
John--"Oh! yes she is in with the doctor just now.Who did you say you are?"
Ann--"My name is Ann, I am Emily's aunt and guardian.She is not very well in the head."
John--"I did thought of that but she may be wanting to marry the doctor."
Ann--"I beg your pardon!"
John--"She said she is going to be married to Dr Fothergill in next two weeks."
Ann--"Oh! no it can't be true."
John--"This is beyond my comprehension lady.Would you like to go into the room with her?."
Ann--"Yes I would,thank you.I could explain what exactly wrong with her ."
John showed Ann into the consulting room and introduce her to the doctor.
John--"Excuse me doc,we have a vistor here.This is Ann and she is your girlfriend's aunty."
Doc--"Thanks John. Will you please sit down Ann."
Ann sat down on a empty chair facing the doctor.
Ann--"I am so sorry to barge in to your room like this but may I have a private word with you for a few minutes regarding Emily."
Doc--"Please do Ann .Emily will you wait outside in the waiting room for a few minutes while I talk to your aunty."
Emily--"If you say so david but don't take too long.We got to go shopping you remember."
Emily exit consulting room doctor and Ann left in the room sitting face to face with doctor.
Ann--"What do you think of my niece doctor,I will not be surprise if you think she is strange."
Doc--"Not at all Ann but I was taken by surprise when she mistaken me for her fiancee.There again I may look like him.What 's his name?David."
Ann--"You are into more surprise then doctor because that David does not exist."
Doc--"You mean all this business of getting married to David is a make up story."

Dreaming Of Spring (A play ) Act1--Scene 2.
Doctor Fothergill comes out from his room and walk towards reception.
Doc--"Any chance for a cup of tea guys."
John--"Of course doc,but I am on duty but Sam is on his break.He will make you a nice cup of tea."
Sam--"Sure thing doc,you like it as usual white with one sugar."
Doc--"Thank you Sam,what will I do without you."
Doctor Forthergill hangs around reception while Sam goes to kitchen to make tea.
Suddenly a young lady appears on the scene.She wears a red dress with a white hat.She looks extreamly attractive.She walks straight to reception and talks to Dr Forthergill.
Young lady--"David what are you doing here.You and me are going to be married in next two weeks. We must go to town to do things for the wedding day."
Doc--"Are you talking to me."
Young lady--"David don't tease me like that,there is not much time left and so many things to do.Come on lets go now."
Dr Forthergill looking very puzzeled and confused and John is looking at him with strange eyes.
Doc--"I am sorry miss,my name is not David and I am not to be married to anyone in next two weeks.And I don't know you."
Young lady--"David stop being silly and come with me now.I am your darling Emily,"The love of your life"you said that when you proposed to me and I said "Yes".
John--"Why don't you take a day off doc,you can swap with somebody then you won't be letting your faincee down."
Doc--"I don't want to take a day off John and I am not going with anyone.I am not engaged to any woman."
John--"Come on doc don't be shy.She seemes to know you very well the way she talks to you just now."
And he wispered into Dr Fothergill's ears."Is she one of those girls who wants to jump into your pocket and are you trying to avoid her or have you put her in a family way."
Doc--"For God sake John!Honestly I don't know this girl.I have never seen her before.How could you say I have put her in family way."
John--"Doc you and me known each each other for a long time.You can trust me doc,your secrets are safe with me."
Emily--"What do I have to do to get you to come with me David."
Getting a bit impatient.
One patient got up from waiting area and said"Go on doc go with the girl.weddings are important for women.Its the most important thing in their life.We can come back tomorrow to see you."
Dr Forthergill looking confuse as ever and said to Emily--"You better come in to my consulting room miss,we can have a chat."
Emily--"Ok David but please don't take too long."
The doctor took Emily with him into the room to avoid futher embarressment.

A busy out patients clinic.Patients sitting in waiting area and at the reception desk Sam the receptionist is busy booking in patients.There are quite a few patients wainting in a que to be booked in.Dr Steve Fothergill comes out of his room and start chatting with receptionist.
Doctor--"Hi Sam how is it going today."
Sam--"Looks like a busy day today I got 35 patients booked in for you and still many more are comming."
Doc--"Well you just have to keep them rolling Sam."
Sam--"I am glad you are on duty today.You are quick at seeing patients.Thats why you are known as "The Rocket Man" doc.I hope you would whip through it in couple of hours."
Doc--"I hope so Sam,if we don't get any patients like the last weekend."
Sam--"Oh! doc that drunkard last weekend refusing to go away and I have to ring police to remove him."
Doc--"I hope we have better luck today for I am feeling tired already."
Sam--"So am I doc,I wish I can go home early today."
Doc--"No chance of that Sam.You won't be going home until I am gone."
Sam--"Thats just my luck doc.No peace for the wicked."
Doctor Fothergill go back into his consulting room, while Sam keep booking new patients.Another receptionist called John walked in.
John--"Hey,its time for your break Sam.How is it going?"
Sam--"Busy as usual John.I wish I had cried off sick and stayed at home."
John--"Don't you play that dirty trick on me Sam.I can't cope with this lot on my own."
Sam--"I am only kidding mate.I rather be here than stay at home listening to wife rambling on about the other woman,she thought I am having a bit on the side with her."
John--"And did you?"
Sam--"Of course not! I rather go to the pub drinking with the lads than chasing women.They are nothing but trouble."
John--"You mean you are not a womenizer but just a drunkard."
Sam--"Have Nepoleon brandy and I will travel."
John--"Same here,I rather have a pint of beer than chasing skirts too.I don't have time or the patience for that sort of thing."
Sam--"I am surprise to hear that from you John.Only the other week you told me you had sex with a woman in the toilet on the train to London."
John--"Ah! that was a long time ago Sam but she was a real stunner that girl.It still makes my heart goes hundred miles per hour even if I think of her."
Sam--"She could be one of those loose women the liberated ones aye!"
John--"How could you call my girl loose woman she is prim and proper as far as I know.You idiot!"
Sam--"How do you know she is bloody prim and proper.You only met her on the train to London for couple of hours."
John--"I can just tell by her looks and the way she talks."
Sam--"I believe you if you say so.Ha! Ha! (laughing)
